Captain William Harber

William Harber has served with the Lock Haven Fire Department since 2003.   He provides leadership to 20 volunteer personnel. He has previously served as Chief from July 1st 2014 until June 20th 2020.  Captain Harber supervises fire operations.

Prior to serving here, Captain Harber spent nearly ten years moving up the ranks within the Lock Haven Fire Department serving as a Firefighter/EMT as well as a Driver/Operator.  He is a very proud second generation firefighter – His father spent fifteen years with the Citizens Hose Company #1 of South Renovo.

His educational background includes a Certificate in Business Management from the Keystone Central School District as well as a Certificate in Paramedic Studies from Lackawanna College, and is currently persuing his BS in Fire Science Management at American Military University/ American Public University.

He is certified through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency at the EMA County Basic Level as well as a ProBoard/IFSAC certified Fire Officer 2, Fire Inspector 1, Hazardous Materials Technician, Vehicle Machinery Technician, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, Incident Safety Officer, and Driver/Operator Aerial and Pumper. He has been an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) since 2005. He is also an AHA CPR Instructor as well as a Pennsylvania State Fire Academy Non-Suppression Local Level Instructor.

In addition to being the Station Chief, he currently holds the rank of Department Chief and Driver/Operator within the Lock Haven Fire Department. He is also employed as a 911 Dispatch Supervisor  with the Clinton County Department of Emergency Services.
